Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Chibundu Onuzo (PhD) is the author of ‘The Spider King’s Daughter’ (2012) and ‘Welcome to Lagos’ (2017). She has won the Betty Trask Award and been shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize, Commonwealth Book Prize and The Encore Award. Her essays and short stories have been commissioned by BBC Radio 3. She writes for the Guardian and is a musician. She is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
