Ayobami Adebayo

Ayobami Adebayo was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1988. She studied Literature in English at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. She has a master’s degree in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, England.[1]

She began writing at age 9, making up alternative endings to stories she read when she didn’t like the conclusions.[2] At age 19, she attended a workshop held by Chimamanda Adichie which influenced her decision to become an author.[3]

Ayobami has worked as an editor for Saraba magazine since 2009.[4] She relaxes by reading a thriller.[5]

Stay With Me is her debut novel.
